About Us

The Wheat Ridge STEM Program is a group of high school students at Wheat Ridge High School who are interested in engineering. This is not limited to any grade level, we are composed of 9th graders through 12th graders. Established in August of 2014, the team’s goal was to design and build a carbon fiber vehicle that would be powered by a hydrogen fuel cell.

The team was composed of 16 students in the first year, This year our program has reached about 80 people. Many of our students start the class with little to no experience. The goal of this involved project is to teach students how to work together as they design, manufacture, assemble, and compete. This year we are excited to be working on a new project; Vintage Mini-roadster. In addition, the students will be working on drone and rocket projects, as well as learning the 3D solid modeling program Solid Works. We are excited for another year of success.

"Wheat Ridge STEM students are graduating from high school with skills in marketing, public speaking, engineering and complex design."
